Dogwood

My poem Dogwood is an expression of the anger that comes with the awareness of what is wrong in the world. Anger is a fire that both burns and consumes, but also transforms and motivates. As activists, we enter into paradoxical relationship of facing the darkness while trying to spark the light.

Questions to consider:

What do you think the lines, “acts of mine / that strike down the forest” means?

Why do you think this poem is named Dogwood?

What does the final line, “WOOF” mean?

If you caught on, and would like one of the posters I made, give me a howl.
