I am an activist that aims to inspire thoughts, feelings, and positive actions by planting messages in our community. I go by the moniker of s.o.r (short for s.o.resident). I live in South Osborne, Winnipeg (Treaty 1 Territory), Manitoba, Canada, Earth.
I have spent decades trying to sway the world around me towards sustainable, peaceful, and respectful relations to one another and the planet we are born from. Why? “If in the right hand is privilege, responsibility is left.”
I deeply admire, appreciate, and reflect that there are so many activists doing amazing work. Yet I still see so much that is wrong in the world. I see the Rubin Block, a glorious building that is older than almost everyone alive today, which through a colonial model of property ownership, is being demolished by neglect. I also see angry, violent men wreaking havoc with their bombs and power on the wellbeing of the world. And I see science-based report after report reckoning the need for full-scale massive change in our behaviour, yet we do worse by the second. As you can probably tell, I’m feeling a little Stumped.
I like asking questions, as they lead to answers. I thought I’d begin with, “What will you give so that our Mother shall live?” I’m very curious what your answers will be. Time is ticking.
